PAKUNPK: A Set of General Purpose Computer Routines to Accomplish Word Packing and Unpacking, for Use with the CDC Fortran FTN Compiler,

Abstract

The precision available on a particular computer system for the storage of variable values is often more than is actually needed. A set of computer routines, PAKUNPK, has been developed to enable the user to make the most effective use of core storage by packing more than one data value within a computer word.
