A Pilot/LSO Simulation Conducted to Investigate Aircraft Wave-off Performance and to Determine the Ability of the Landing Signal Officer to Judge Aircraft Approaches.
Abstract
A fixed base carrier landing simulation including both the pilot and the landing signal officer (LSO) was performed to investigate aircraft wave-off performance and to evaluate the functions of the LSO. Minimum aircraft design requirements are recommended based on the simulation results.
