Remote-Terminal Emulator (Design Verification Model). Introduction and Summary,

Abstract

The Remote-Terminal Emulator is a minicomputer-based system which generates message traffic for use in testing and evaluating large-scale multi-terminal computer systems. This series of reports describes the two Design-Verification Models that were developed on Data General NOVA 800 minicomputers. This volume discusses the background for emulator work at MITRE and summarizes the development program. General concepts are discussed, and the hardware and software of the Design-Verification Models are described.
