Investigation of Metallurgical Processes in Electroslag Remelting,

Abstract

The article discusses the special equipment and research methods used for studying the processes of interaction of slag with liquid metal when applying an electric current. The effect of the nature and polarity of the current and the chemical composition of slag and metal were studied. The results obtained show the possibility of controlling the chemical composition of remelted metal by the selection of the composition of the slag and by using various electric currents.
