Determining Geostrophic Winds Using a Satellite-Borne Infrared Radiometer.

Abstract

Several computational techniques for obtaining the geostrophic wind field from satellite-borne infrared radiometer data are investigated. Also discussed are the limitations of approximating the actual wind by this satellite-retrieved geostrophic wind.
