Production Engineering Measures for Filter, Infrared, Interference-Absorption Type.

Abstract

The program was devoted to selection, test and adjustment of a suitable multilayer coating to form the required interference filter. A thirteen layer coating, consisting of alternate layers of very high and moderately low index of refraction materials, was selected from several coating types which have been made in the past for similar applications. Adjustments were made to the preparation of the glass, application of the multilayer coating, and to the tools and test apparatus used for making these filters. The manufacturing procedure and tools are in the process of being adjusted to final form, suitable for making Engineering Samples.
