An Application of Discriminant Analysis to Determine the Demand for Industrial Flood Plain Location.

Abstract

This study was undertaken to accumulate more information about the factors which motivate firms to locate on a flood plain. The objectives were two fold: to gather data on the characteristics of industrial and commercial establishments in the St. Louis region, and to analyze these data to determine any statistical differences between those establishments located on the flood plain and those located off the flood plain.
