Space Sextant High-Altitude Navigation System (SS-HANS) Study, Phase 0 Final Report. Volume II. Configuration Trade Study.

Abstract

The contents of this report present the results of the System Configuration Tradeoffs task (Task 1.1). The primary effort of this task was to perform conceptual designs of three sextant configurations, evaluate their performance potential, development risk and satellite versatility and to recommend one of these concepts for detailed preliminary design. Results of this effort are contained in this report as well as the results of preliminary screening efforts of candidate time reference and potential mass storage systems.
