Multiple Beam Communication Satellite Antenna Systems.

Abstract

Antenna systems for future communication satellites will probably include multiple beam capability to enhance link performance and use allocated bandwidth efficiently. Technology for multiple beam generation is briefly surveyed. Tradeoffs inherent in multiple beam antenna systems are described. Message routing systems for transferring received energy to the transmitting beams on the satellite are discussed.
