Abstract
The article deals with the stabilization of pipelines with screw-anchor type devices. It details the experience of Soviet contractors with this type of installation in areas where the ground is frozen. The technique of local thawing with subsequent anchor installation is covered thoroughly, including a brief theoretical description of frost action in soils.
