Means of Individual Protection and Control of the Action of Ionizing Radiation,

Abstract

The report describes methods for using individual protection means, and monitoring the effects of ionizing radiation in hot laboratories. Dangerous radioactive substances can affect the skin surface or can be abosrbed into the body. Special protective clothing, gloves, suits, footwear, has been designed to combat the first and special masks help to prevent the second. Monitoring equipment, both portable and fixed, can be used to test the atmosphere and provide safety for personnel working in conditions where radiation could occur.
