Test Models of Tactical Dosimeters IM185 and IM188.

Abstract

Tactical Dosimeters IM185 (Army version) and IM188 (Air Force version) are used to measure total doses of gamma rays and fast neutrons delivered at low rates as well as at extremely high rates, which correspond to the radiation from fallout and the prompt initial radiation from tactical nuclear weapons, respectively. This report describes techniques developed to alleviate the difficulties encountered in the use and maintenance of previous test models.
