Structure and Properties of Glassy Metals.

Abstract

Glassy metals exhibit short range order which is almost as well developed as, but is topologically distinct from, that in crystalline metals. Their 'defectiveness' is due only to the absence of long range spatial correlations of the local configurations. The mechanical and magnetic behavior of glassy metals is interpreted in terms of current structural models, in conjunction with hypotheses concerning dilatational and flow disordering and softening.
