Theoretical Downwash Velocities about the AH-1G Helicopter at Hover and 140 Knots.

Abstract

Current programs in helicopter armament have not adequately treated the problem of the rocket or missile's response to the aircraft's downwash. In this analysis, the downwash is represented as vortex filaments shed from the rotor tips, and the fuselage is represented by a source distribution. The vehicle and flight data and the downwash velocity components for hover and forward flight cases are given.
