Experimental Investigation of the Possibility of Improving the Sensitivity of Photocells Using Fiber Amplifiers,

Abstract

Investigation into the sensitivity of photocells was made by using fiber amplifiers. A core with a diameter of 30 micrometers and a casing, made from samarium glass with a diameter of 1 mm was used as an amplifier. Tests showed that a sensitivity was reached with limits of 10 to the minus 8th power W with a 30 MHz band.
