Economic Analysis of Low Temperature TNT Processes,

Abstract

An economic analysis of alternative TNT processes was performed to determine potential cost savings. Total costs of the nine alternatives (current and modified Canadian Industries Limited (CIL) processes and the Low Temperature Stanford Research Institute (SRI) process) were compared. These costs included development, conversion, and production costs. This analysis considered peacetime and mobilization production rates, the number of lines converted, and years of TNT production.
