Computer Network Research.
Abstract
The body of this report contains four papers which cover three research areas. The first is the paper by L. Kleinrock and W. E. Naylor entitled, 'On Measured Behavior of the ARPA Network.' The second area is represented in the second paper, 'Capacity Allocation in Distributed Computer Networks by D. G. Cantor and M. Gerla. The third area covered in this report describes the use of queueing networks as models for multiple resource computer systems and is represented by the two final papers: 'Analytic Models for Computer Systems Performance Analysis' by R. R. Muntz and 'Asymptotic Properties of Closed Queueing Network Models' by R. R. Muntz and J. W. Wong. The continuing work in satellite packet switching, ground radio packet switching, packetized speech transmission through the ARPANET, large network design procedures, and secure operating systems studies continues to progress and will be reported upon further in future semiannual technical reports.
