Storage Camera-Tube with Non-Destructive Readout.

Abstract

The report describes the progress and reviews accomplishments on major tasks to develop a novel storage camera-tube. The tube is capable of dual-mode operation, either as a real-time television camera-tube or as a storage camera-tube with non-destructive readout, switchable on command. Details of the device are described, and test results are presented. A sensitivity of .055 amperes per watt at 1.06 micrometer wavelength was achieved, representing 6 1/2% quantum efficiency. Means of increasing 1.06 micrometer sensitivity are discussed.
