Solubility and Diffusivity of Oxygen in Nickel and Cobalt.

Abstract

The solubility and diffusivity of oxygen in nickel has been determined by the method of solid electrolyte coulometric titration, for the temperature range 1000 degrees C to 1250 degrees C. The solubility of oxygen in nickel does not obey the Sieverts' Law relationship expected for such low concentration. Expressions for solubility and diffusivity are reported.
