Strength and Deformability of Fiberglass-Reinforced Plastics Subjected to Biaxial Compression,

Abstract

Problems of strength, resistance, and deformability of structural fiberglass-reinforced plastics on cloth and noncloth base in biaxial compression are examined. Emphasis is placed on the effect of the time factor in the case of long-term strength in creep conditions. It was found that in biaxial compression of fiberglass-reinforced plastics with constant loading, the creep curves may be nonmonotonic.
