Properties of Ceramic Materials.

Abstract

Areas of research included: solid electrolytes; thermodynamics of electrochemical cells; kinetics of ionic transport; electrical conductivity of NaCl; creep of oxides at high temperatures; diffusion in oxides and fluorides--including refractory and rare earth compounds; high temperature strength and refractory and rare earth compounds; high temperature strength and recovery of oxide ceramic materials--including single crystal rutile and sapphire; stoichiometry and point defect concentrations in ultra pure BaTiO3; theoretical analyses of acousto electric coupling, signal amplification (phonon amplification), insertion losses, and modes of vibration for surface waves of piezoelectric crystals; fiberglass water and fiberglass benzene adsorption isotherms with multiple internal reflection infrared analysis; and neutron activation analysis.
