AVQ 20A Azimuth Indicator Driver.
Abstract
A dummy servo circuit was designed and built to allow selection of any one of five radar azimuth following pot outputs, to normalize each of these voltages, and to drive the sweep angle of the RCA AVQ 20A console as a linear function of the selected azimuth. The servo translates input DC voltages to shaft rotation, driving a resolver of the type used in the 20A sweep circuit such that plus or minus 20 degrees sweep corresponds to plus or minus 10 V normalized input voltage.
