The SRI-WEFA Soviet Econometric Model: Phase One Documentation

Abstract

The report explains the structure of the model and discusses the operation of the Soviet economy. The use of the model is explored, by examining alternative scenarios, by means of inferential study, and by forecasting the performance of the Soviet economy. The latter includes an ex-post forecast for 1973. Model documentation and data sources are presented in the appendices.
