Power Controller Breadboard and Development Requirements.

Abstract

The study was conducted to resolve some of the problem areas associated with the development of solid state power controllers to the requirements of MIL-P-81653, and to establish design concepts and requirements which will lead to the development of low cost and reliable controllers. This report contains rational for establishing design requirements, and presents design concepts for meeting the established requirements. Three solid state power controllers were designed, fabricated and tested. These are rated for 5.0 amperes at 28 volts DC, 2.0 amperes at 115 volts AC and 2.0 amperes at 28 volts DC or 115 volts AC. Recommended changes in design requirements for production AC and DC controllers are presented in the form of Detail Specification Sheets.
