A Comparison of Three Sediment Grain-Size Analysis Techniques.

Abstract

Sediment grain sizes have been measured with an Andreasen's Pipette, an EEL Photo-Extinction Sedimentometer with an MSA Particle Size Analyser on samples taken from a deep sea core. The results obtained with the EEL Photo-Extinction Sedimentometer and the Andreasen's Pipette were in good agreement; the MSA Particle Size Analyser result did not agree with the other two results.
