Corrugated Horns.

Abstract

This report describes the development of an antenna element suitable for use in a direction finding system. Corrugated horn and ridged waveguide techniques were utilized to provide the required characteristics of nearly equal performance for incident horizontal and vertical polarization and limited beamwidth variation with frequency over a bandwidth in excess of 2:1. Performance characteristics of several models are presented in the form of radiation patterns, VSWR, gain and beamwidth curves.
