Computing Methods Used in Support of Modeling Electron Concentrations in High-Altitude Chemical Releases.

Abstract

The modeling of electron concentrations for high-altitude chemical releases requires a number of supporting computations that have not been reported previously. These computing methods are presented in detail. They include six coordinate transformations, a solution for the position of a cloud's center based on line-of-sight data from a pair of observing sites, and a solution to describe cloud appearance (size, shape, and orientation) as viewed from a given location.
