Water Pollution Sampler Evaluation.

Abstract

This report outlines standardized procedures for the evaluation of water and wastewater samplers. Sixteen samplers, which represented the various types available, were selected for evaluation. Synthetic wastewaters were developed and consisted of six classes of naturally occurring wastewater constituents. Test physical constraints were established to include lift, temperature and sampling duration. The evaluation also included a reliability test and a field test. Each evaluated sampler is discussed with reference to its ease of operation, representativeness of sample and relation to the predefined ideal sampler. Laboratory and field data are described and discussed. The samplers are ranked as to their overall performance.
