Reconnaissance Mission Model for Armored Reconnaissance Scout Vehicle (ARSV) Cost and Operational Effectiveness Analysis.

Abstract

The report describes an analytic model which was developed to portray the activities of an armored cavalry platoon (plus an air scout section) in the performance of a zone or area reconnaissance mission. The model is analytic as opposed to simulatory in nature. The mathematic structure incorporated into the model makes use of a combination of a MARKOV structure and expected value modeling. For certain output variables probability distributions are obtained; for others, expected values are produced.
