Underwater Activities in the Soviet Union

Abstract

The report is an updated revision of a paper presented at the Workshop on Medical Aspects of Noncombatant Submersible Operations, held in San Diego, Calif, in November 1974. The report reviews significant past, present and future development of undersea research vehicles by the Soviet Union. Emphasis has been put on the safety, rescue, and support aspects of the more than 30 vehicles, drones, and other systems discussed.
