High Current Density Cathodes

Abstract

The objective of the program is to develop the expertise necessary to produce barium strontium tungstate cathodes with high levels of emission and of different physical configuration. The procedures and equipment used are described together with the progress to date. An emission level of 16 Amps./ sq cm has been obtained at 1050C but cannot yet be consistently reproduced.
