Remote-Terminal Emulator (Design Verification Model). Volume 8. Description of Hardware

Abstract

The Remote-Terminal Emulator is a minicomputer-based system which generates message traffic for use in testing and evaluating large-scale multi-terminal computer systems. This series of reports describes the two Design Verification Models that were developed on Data General NOVA 800 minicomputers. This volume describes the hardware for the fixed-site and on-site emulators, with emphasis on the special purpose components developed for the emulator application. Design and implementation details are presented to facilitate maintenance and repair of both systems, and to facilitate field modifications to the on-site system.
