Isomeric (eta5-C5H5)NiB9H9 - Metalloborane Anions from B9H12(-) and Nickelocene.

Abstract

Reaction of B9H12(-) and Ni(C5H5)2 with Na/Hg produces the metalloborane ((eta5-C5H5)-2-Ni(eta5-B9H9))(-) which is quantitatively converted to a second isomer ((eta5-C5H5)-1-Ni(eta4-B9H9))(-) by thermal isomerization.
