A Comparison of Bayesian Reliability Demonstrations.

Abstract

This paper reviews current Bayesian reliability procedures for possible use in developmental testing. The major concerns are that the test be short, require a minimum of test data, and use the data in an effective manner. An example of this test is given for a piece of equipment whose time to failure is exponentially distributed and is from a population of equipment whose mean time between failure is distributed according to an inverted-gamma distribution.
