Mechanism of Bacterial Killing by the Peritoneal and Hepatic Macrophage Population.

Abstract

The overall purpose of this project is to understand the mechanism by which mononuclear phagocytes kill and degrade bacteria. The goals set for the year covered by this report were to investigate the distribution of glycosidases in certain types of cells, and to demonstrate bacterial killing by a cell-free preparation from mononuclear phagocytes.
