Optimal Design of Sabots

Abstract

Recently, a number of useful numerical algorithms have been developed for optimal design of mechanical systems. In most cases, domain of optimization of the mechanical system is assumed to be fixed. The objective of the present study is to develop an optimization technique in which the domain of the optimization problem may vary. In other words, for a continuous system, an optimization technique is sought that will allow the shape of the boundary of the system to be determined under various constraint conditions.
