Dynamics of a Focussed Discharge.

Abstract

This report describes theoretical and experimental investigations on the dynamics of a dense plasma focus. The characteristics of the focus in terms of x-ray and neutron production are described. A diagnostic procedure for the analysis of the momentum of the deuterons ejected from the focus is also described. The results of a preliminary theoretical investigation of the heating of a dense plasma focus by a laser is given.
