Extreme Estimations in Geothermy and Geocryology,

Abstract

The monograph is devoted to extremal estimations of the variation in temperature and phase states of water in the lithosphere's upper layer. The author analyzes the changes in a normal geotemperature field under various climatic tendencies and estimates a climatic correction to the geothermal gradient in classical form without consideration of sediment accumulation, denudation and hydrogeologic factors. Calculated are the critical parameters of stationary and non-stationary cryolithic zones. The history of its development in the north of the Western Siberian Lowland is discussed.
