Maximum Utilization of Computer Produced Data Provides Optimum Benefits for Assigned Personnel.

Abstract

The circumstances described in the study are those of the commander, generally at battalion level, who, having had only a minimal of exposure to a large scale computer system is suddenly thrust into furnishing explicit data as input to the system and in return receiving volumes of management reports. The study addresses the manner in which a large scale system was installed in the field by Department of the Army and how the needs of the Field Commanders were/were not met. It analyzes computer prepared reports: training furnished and the resulting payoff in the use of these reports by commanders.
