On Homothetic Scalar Valued Production Functions.

Abstract

Seven equivalent statements of homotheticity are given for scalar valued production functions. These 7 statements relate to the functional form, the level sets L(u), the cost function, linearity of expansion paths and the distance function for the correspondence u maps to L(u).
