Reaction of Phenylboron Dichloride with Cyclopentadienyldicarbollylcobalt.
Abstract
Reduction of 3-(eta5-C5H5)-3,1,2-Co-(eta5-C2B9H11) with 3 equivalents of sodium followed by addition of phenylboron dichloride results in insertion of a boron atom exclusively in the cyclopentadienyl ring to yield 3-(1-C6H5-(eta6-C5BH5))-3,1,2-Co-(eta5-C2B9H11).
