PROMS (PROjectile Measurement Systems Program),

Abstract

PROMS is an interactive graphics projectile measurements and engineering design generation program developed for use with the Control Data Corporation 6500/1700/274 Digigraphic System. PROMS effectively enables the user to perform ballistic matching and projectile parametic studies on new munition items. The designer can quickly and easily change, add, delete and move components of the projectile as needed and view the calculated results immediately on the CRT screen. These results include the weight, center of gravity, transverse and polar moments of inertia and displaced volume of the projectile and are displayed along with the assembly drawing of the new design. Projectile data can be viewed and repeatably modified using a light pen and alphanumeric keyboard in a continuous man-machine interactive design loop.
