Hadamard Matrices in Spectroscopy.

Abstract

Parameters determing the efficiency of spectrometric systems (like resolution, light-gathering capability, etc.) are discussed briefly. The multiplex principle as applied in spectroscopy is outlined and the most popular method of multiplexing in spectroscopy (Fourier spectroscopy) is presented. The role of modified Hadamard matrices in spectroscopy is outlined and a comparison between Fourier and Hadamard spectroscopy is presented from the point of view of efficiency, ease of implementation and limitations.
