Theory of Infra-Red Absorption.

Abstract

A theory is presented for multiphonon infra-red absorption including impurity effects. The theory can be used to calculate line shapes of impurity induced absorption. Other topics described include some group theory restrictions and systematics of multiphonon absorption.
