Simplifications of the Boundary Condition at a Slotted Wind-Tunnel Wall with a Boundary Layer.

Abstract

Starting from a strongly idealized physical model of subsonic flow past slender axisymmetric bodies in a longitudinally slotted wind tunnel of circular cross-section a homogeneous boundary condition is derived, which is to be used at the tunnel wall in connection with the usual potential equation for non-viscous flow in order to produce approximately the same flow field in the central part of the tunnel as the field resulting from taking into consideration the complicated viscous flow at the slotted wall.
