ARPA/NRL X-Ray Laser Program - Semiannual Technical Report to Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency, 1 Jul 1974-31 December 1974

Abstract

This is the second semiannual technical report for the ARPA/NRL X-ray Laser Program. The individual activities in the program include: electron collisional pumping using picosecond laser heating of a cold plasma; traveling wave (TW) high energy electron beam pumping; nonlinear optical mixing starting with intense 1600 A radiation; resonant charge transfer pumping using a laser plasma expanding into a neutral gas background, and theory, analysis, and numerical modeling in support of the above and other approaches. Some reprints of completed papers are included.
