Physical, Chemical and Biological Data, Climax II Expedition, 27 August - 13 October 1969.
Abstract
The expedition was the second of a series to the North Pacific Central Gyre. The purpose of this research was to acquire information on the community structure and function in an area thought to be relatively homogeneous with respect to the distributions of physical, chemical and biological variables. By examination of early data and because of biogeographic evidence, the area 28 degrees N 155 degrees W was selected as 'representative' of a much larger area within the Gyre.
