Guidelines for Material Placement in Marsh Creation.

Abstract

The report presents a systematic set of guidelines for creating new marshes from dredged material under a variety of situations and constraints. New marshes are characterized on the basis of the frequency of dredging, confinement requirements and the need for surcharging. Pertinent information on important physical environmental factors, dredging and disposal operational practices, and engineering properties of dredged materials is used to develop guidelines for creating each type of marsh.
