The Measurement of Small Wavefront Deviations Introduced by a Panel.

Abstract

Wavefront deviation of a low-frequency sound beam introduced by passage of the beam through a rubber panel was measured at angles of incidence from 0 to plus or minus 20 deg. The technique of measurement is described, and results and measurement problems are discussed. Resolution of the measurements is estimated as 0.01 deg, but this value probably can be improved to 0.001 deg by incorporating the changes described.
