Work in the Navy -- A Description of Navy Officer and Enlisted Occupations.

Abstract

The report contains, in manual form, career guidance materials describing occupations and career development opportunities in the Navy. The materials were developed for integration into the Oregon Career Information System, a career education program using both computerized and manual information systems. The report includes: (1) A discussion of the general work of the Navy which includes a description of the special environment within which Navy occupational tasks are performed; a comparison of Navy occupations with the occupations listed in the Oregon Career Information System; and general information on Navy career development; (2) A description of each enlisted occupation or 'rating'; (3) A description of each officer category and specialty.
